A project inspired by one of my favourite things, these Formula 1 posters are everything I would want to see leading up to my favourite race weekend. Inspired by the new 2022 design of the cars, these posters show the intricate details and flowing shapes of the cars.
The idea for these posters came from my love of Formula 1 and a dream to design posters for iconic races in the sport. With the new regulations that came to the sport in 2022 the car design drastically changed and with that we saw a much more streamlined version of the car with slick body lines and new innovations. The idea was to showcase the intricate design of the car and compliment it with amazing typography.
The base greys and typeface were kept minimal, but with a purpose of not taking away from the car graphic. Behind the cars there is a pattern meant to resemble the flowing air around the car as well as the swooping corners of the tracks they race on. The highlight colour on each poster varies between them, taking inspiration from the iconic colour of the country or track. These posters were designed with fans and fanatics in mind, making sure the car illustration was accurate and that they could pick out what year and team the graphic was design after. Hidden in the design is also an easter egg only people looking close enough into the detail would spot. Take a look and see!
